About Mainmun

Grand Theme
Malang International Model United Nations or MAINMUN 2026 brings the fresh theme titled Navigating the New Axis: Upholding Unity and Redefining Diplomacy Amidst Global Transformation at the Crossroads of Change reflects the major changes in today’s global dynamics. These changes can be seen in the rise of new powers, the challenges of climate change, technological disruption, and growing geopolitical rivalries, which place the global community at an important turning point.
In response, diplomacy must go beyond the traditional state-centered approach. It now needs to involve non-state actors, adopt more inclusive practices, make use of innovation, and build cooperation across borders. Through this conference, MAINMUN provides a platform for young leaders to critically engage with these issues and promote unity among diverse perspectives. Ultimately, this theme highlights the urgency of creating a stronger and more cooperative global future.
